Home remedies for hair loss

Here are some practical advice and DIY treatments to halt hair loss and restore strong, glossy hair.

One of the most prevalent issues impacting both men and women nowadays is hair loss. In addition to genetic factors, underactive thyroid glands, stress, hormonal imbalances, dietary deficiencies, aging, scalp infections, certain medical diseases or medications, air pollution, and inadequate blood circulation are some of the major causes of hair loss. It's typical to lose 50 to 100 hair strands every day (don't panic, a normal scalp has about 100,000 hair strands). But, it's important to take notice of your hair and scalp if you begin to lose more than that. To reduce and even eliminate hair loss, there are a number of easy-to-find home remedies. These are a few efficient at-home treatments to reduce hair loss and encourage new hair development.

1. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a potent natural medicine that promotes hair growth and tackles hair loss. It also works well to lessen scalp issues including flaking and irritation. The slightly alkaline properties of aloe vera help to return the scalp to its normal pH. Additionally, it can be applied to cure dandruff. Because it penetrates deeply into the scalp, it promotes hair growth.

You will need: A stalk or leaf of Aloe Vera

Method: Remove the pulp from the aloe vera stalk. After applying it to your scalp and hair, let it sit for around 45 minutes. Apply a standard water rinse. For optimum results, repeat this three to four times per week.

2. Fenugreek seeds

Methi seeds, often known as fenugreek, are one of the best at-home treatments for hair loss. It facilitates hair regrowth and fixes hair follicles. Fenugreek seeds, which are high in proteins and nicotinic acid, fortify the hair shaft and give you long, lustrous, and strong hair.

You will need: 1 cup of fenugreek seeds

Method: Soak the fenugreek seeds in water for the entire night. The following day, grind it into a fine paste and apply it to your scalp and hair. Give the paste a half-hour or so on your head. To keep your scalp moisturized, place a shower cap over it. Rinse it with regular water after thirty to forty minutes. There's no need to use shampoo. For a month, do it twice a week to achieve gorgeous locks and control hair loss.

3. Coconut milk

Coconut milk, which is high in proteins, minerals, and healthy fats, regulates hair loss, lessens hair breakage, and encourages hair growth. Potassium, another ingredient in coconut milk, promotes hair development. Your hair will become stronger and more hydrated, looking healthy and glossy. Coconut milk's antimicrobial qualities will shield your hair from harm.

One cup of coconut milk is required. It can be prepared by squeezing the milk out of the shredded coconut and grinding it in a blender.

Method: Massage the coconut milk into your hair and scalp. Put the milk on your hair ends from your scalp. Your head should be covered with a towel, and you should wait 20 to 30 minutes. Wash your hair with cold water and a light shampoo after that. To get noticeable effects, do it once a week.

4. Indian Gooseberry or Amla

Indian gooseberry, or amla, is another powerful home remedy to cure hair loss since it is full of vitamin C, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and exfoliating qualities. A vitamin C deficiency is one of the reasons behind hair loss, thus consuming amla will fortify your hair follicles and assist you in managing your hair loss. Additionally, it will support quicker hair growth and keep the scalp healthy. Amla will not only maintain your hair thick and healthy, but it will also help avoid premature greying.

You will need: For the first method, you will need 1 cup of coconut oil and 4 to 5 dried gooseberries. For the second method, you will require gooseberry powder and lime juice.

Method: Firstly, combine the dried gooseberries with the coconut oil and bring to a boil, stirring until the oil turns black. After allowing the oil to reach room temperature, massage it into your scalp. After letting it sit for half an hour, rinse it out with regular water and shampoo.

For the second method, create a paste by combining the amla powder and lime juice. Work it into your hair and scalp. Cover your head with a shower cap to prevent the paste from drying out. Keep it for an hour and then rinse it off with normal water. For shiny locks, repeat these steps twice a week.

5. Beetroot juice

Vitamins C and B, potassium, calcium, carbs, protein, and phosphorus are all found in beetroot and are vital for healthy hair. It's among the greatest home cures for hair loss. You should consume it every day to promote rapid hair growth.

You will need: A few Beetroot leaves, 1 tablespoon of henna

Method: Boil two cups of water with the beetroot leaves in it until the water is reduced to half of its original volume. After letting it cool, grind it. Henna will be added to create a paste. Put it on your hair and scalp. After around 20 minutes, give it a rinse with regular water. Do this three times a week to maintain healthy hair and control loss.

6. Onion juice

Your hair can benefit greatly from onions. The presence of sulphur enhances blood circulation to the hair follicles, while the antibacterial qualities aid in the battle against scalp infections. It inhibits hair loss and encourages hair growth.

You will need: Juice of 1 onion and a cotton ball. To extract onion juice, grind the onion and then squeeze out the juice.

Method: Apply the cotton ball to your scalp after dipping it in the onion juice. After 20 to 30 minutes, rinse it off with regular water and a gentle shampoo. Once a week, carry out this process and observe the results.
