3 Non-Surgical Ways to Improve Baggy Eyelids

Eyelid bags, sometimes referred to as dermatochalasis or blepharochalasis, occur when your eyelids droop, bag, or seem enlarged excessively. Most frequently, natural aging, allergies, sinus issues, or loose skin are to blame.

Complications on the emotional, social, and physical levels might result from loose, saggy eyelid skin. There are operations to reinforce the skin around your eyes if you struggle with sagging eyelids.  Despite not being a permanent solution, certain natural remedies can temporarily improve the appearance of the eyelid.

Nine Reasons Why Eyelids Get Baggy

The most frequent reason of baggy eyes is aged skin. Your body creates less collagen as you get older and becomes less elastic. Your skin's tissue becomes weaker as a result, and it can no longer sustain the weight of your eyelid's skin.

In addition to aging, the following reasons can also cause baggy eyelids:

  • Smoking
  • Lack of sleep
  • Excessive sun exposure
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Facial or eye injury
  • Oxidative stress
  • Allergies
  • Sinus Disease

Keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water, moisturize your eyelids, and always wear sunscreen, even on overcast days, to help avoid baggy eyelids.

3 Ways to Deal with the Bags

There are various natural solutions you can try if your eyelids are sagging. This entails the use of cucumber slices, chamomile tea bags, and a grape-filled diet.

1)  Apply cucumber slices

Ascorbic and caffeic acids, which are both included in cucumbers, help to tighten sagging eyelids. They help skin naturally tighten and reduce irritation. Slices of cucumber can improve the health, smoothness, and brightness of your skin.

Place two cool cucumber slices over your eyes. Before removing the cucumbers, give them 20 minutes to sit. Wash your face with cool water afterward.

2)  Eat more grapes

Resveratrol, an organic compound that slows cell aging, is abundant in grapes. Increasing your intake of grapes will keep your skin looking young, avoid fine lines, and reduce drooping eyes.

Consume a bowl of grapes every day. Although sticky, grape juice can also be applied directly on the skin. Fortunately, grapes are delicious, so there shouldn't be any issues with eating more of them.

3)  Use chamomile tea bags

Due to its inherent anti-inflammatory properties, chamomile is beneficial for saggy eyelids and strengthens your skin. Apply chamomile tea bags to your eyes to decrease puffy and sagging eyelids.

2 tea bags should first be steeped in boiling water. For 15 to 30 minutes, let them cool in the refrigerator. Place the tea bags over your eyes for 30 minutes after they have chilled.

After removing the tea bags, continue to lay still for another 25 minutes. The anti-inflammatory qualities of the tea lessen edema and puffiness while bolstering the skin around your eyes.

Look and Feel Better

Take good care of your skin because it is the greatest organ in your body. A healthy lifestyle and good skin care habits will keep your skin looking young and lovely.

Baggy eyelids can be fixed through cosmetic surgery if natural therapies are unsuccessful.
